Maria Cruz Correira - After all what is left

maa 05/08/2013 > maa 30/11/-0001

Ongoing/Reserach

The urban space is not just a cluster of buildings, with respiratory routes between them. There is an emotional, ecological and social map that involves its habitants. We find the essence of the city in the hidden intersection – not abstraction – of daily individual interactions.
Addressing the space as a living body involves a methodology: trying to understand how nature spreads and grows in common grounds of urban landscapes. The research fosters a decoding of social systems that underline the intimacy of its habitants and natural objects within urban contexts. The idea is to design a green map, which aims the intersection between the shops, houses and cafes in the rue de fort with the quest of what it’s still natural in their environment. To trigger their conscious activity on ecological interference in their daily life: sharing change between, with and for the community.
