In the summer of 2015 El Kharraz Alami and Scarlet Tummers started a theatre collective together, le Mouton Noir.
For their first piece they collaborate with actors Bas Zemering and Evgenia Brendes. Together, these young artists decided to put the Greek tragedy by Euripides on stage.
‘De Bacchanten’ is set in a time of crisis and war and le Mouton Noir shows the battle between order and chaos, between cultures and between families. They try to translate this ancient piece and its view on religion, rites and celebration to the present.
