Nikolas Lestaeghe

Frits Hirsch operette

lun 27/01/2014 > ven 31/01/2014

Nikolas Lestaeghe is creating an operetta on the role of his family during the two world wars (with a focus on the first). A story marked by many taboos. It is supposed to become an operetta for 5 soloists, a mixed choir, a symphonic orchestra and 3 technicians. Nikolas is however at this moment alone and takes on all the various parts of the play. Only later 3 extra performers will join him on stage. By using self-made instruments Nikolas will strive for the impossible in order to put an end to his family taboos. The libretto is based on (amongst others) Europeana by Patrik Ourednik, The last days of humanity by Karl Kraus, melodramatic scenes from German operettas and interviews with family members.
